I/ Range of Responsibilities

Summary:

  • Ensuring suppliers develop their process in line with parts’ design and maintain their systems to ensure they are compliant with their internal requirements as well as external requirements.
  • Ensuring that suppliers continue to develop and implement the best practice that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and provide for continuous improvements and continue to meet quality standards required to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring Incoming quality control meet quality standards.
  • Responsible for new validation/sign off and vendor capability for all outsourced parts
  • Providing leadership, outstanding people skills and management to a Supplier Quality team.

Duties:

General and Task Management:

  • Lead supplier development strategy, designing metrics for the function and supplier performance
  • Work with functional teams to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective in meeting product and process requirements
  • Support new product launches to ensure suppliers being capable of delivering to the required quality standards by carrying out Material Approval Process (MAP) with the supplier for new parts
  • Planning and carry out supplier audits for both new and released suppliers
  • Manage the root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier quality issues
  • Where appropriate work with the supplier directly, create corrective action plans to address process failures
  • Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions of supplier quality issues
  • Review and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Promote the use preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
  • Identify gap of Part Requirement, Supplier control and Incoming control to final product requirement by cross check all areas, initiate improvement to close the gap.
  • Monitor and report on supplier product quality and performance.
  • Manage the Supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), eg: problem solving on time, non-conforming trend,…
  • Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices/designs and future trends
  • Continue optimize internal process/procedure.

People Management:

  • Manage, coach and develop a high performing Supplier Quality team that meets agreed objectives, added value and continuous improvements
  • Provide leadership, direction, management and development to the Supplier Quality team
  • Set objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
  • Motivate and coach the team to operational success
  • Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems

Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
  • Closely work with Procurement, Product/Process Engineering and Quality team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product requirements
  • Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products in meeting customer requirements.

 

II. FORMAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Education:

  • Required: University degree with engineering background
  • Preferable: Higher technical education (M.Sc.)

2. Professional knowledge of:

  • Familiarity with APQP i.e. ambition to implement advanced quality planning processes at our vendors.
  • Experience of dealing with suppliers.

3. Knowledge of computer servicing: Good at Microsoft Office

4. Knowledge of foreign languages: Good communicate in English

5. Other (e.g. competences):

6. Professional experience:

  • Mandatory: At least 3 years’ experience Supplier Quality Management background in Supervisor/ Manger Level
  • Prefered:  Experiences in manufacturing field is a big advantage
