Job Description
I. MAIN DUTIES:
Summary:
· Responsible for sourcing and purchasing of complex items for Equipment Engineering (EE) and Operations Automation (OA) operations
· Ensure ordering of materials, parts, equipment… following policies defined by the company, such as JIT, RFQ…
Duties:
- Search new suppliers for projects and lead discussions with suppliers in closed cooperation with Project Engineer/Manager
- Responsible for negotiating best prices and other terms/conditions, considering the balance of technical and commercial for Project Manager’s decision making
- Collaborate with EE and AO teams to set up supplier’s base, competency matrix, vendor rating…
- Responsible to get supplier to sign NDA before providing complete technical requirements.
- Responsible to provide Equipment Purchase Agreement & Statement of Work to awarded supplier
- Finds Alternate sources for better cost and smooth supply
- Source high quality and low cost of equipment items
- Prepares RFQ and cost comparison, organize supplier selection meeting
- Keep Procurement compliance in place
- Maintain good business relationship with supplier
- Prepare needed document set for material shipment related, such as purchase order (PO), purchase request (PR), agreement (if any), invoice, packing list, Airway bill (bill of lading) and other required document (if any) within purchasing scope.
- Work in co-operation with Import-Export team
- Understand financial procedure around CAPEX.
- Setting up file system for quotations, catalogue and qualified Suppliers
- Being proactive to contact to supplier and mitigate delayed delivery.
- Provide support and guidance to Technical Procurement Engineer
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and align procurement needs, specification, requirements for various campaigns and to ensure alignment and effective communication
- Recommend process improvements and ensure proper execution and monitoring
- Deal with appropriate internal departments and supplier for complaints.
- Work without/minimal guidance from supervisor/manager
II. REQUIREMENTS
1. Education:
- Required: University Degree, major in Commercial &Trade / Economy / English
- Preferable: University Degree, major in Supply Chain
2. Professional knowledge of:
- Basic understanding of purchasing cost concept
- Technical drawing
- Technical market experiences in term of technical parts/material/component Suppliers
3. Knowledge of computer servicing:
- Can use Microsoft Office
- Preferable: Can use ERP or SAP
4. Knowledge of foreign languages:
- Can communicate with foreign colleagues (equal to PET)
- English: 600 TOEIC score as minimum
5. Other (e.g. competences):
- Good at communication and negotiation skills
- Careful, proactive, accurate and well-organized
- Open for learning new things and awareness of cost optimization
- Open mind, ability to fast learning and be open to development
- Flexible and be willing to business trips
- Creative and initiative in action
6. Professional experience:
Mandatory:
- Strong collaboration/push and often contact with Suppliers
- Ready to learn (not only base on current technical knowledge)
Prefered: At least 2+ years’ experience in technical purchasing/ supplier management / material planning
