Job Description
I. RANGE OF DUTIES:
1.New Product Introduction (NPI):
- Participate in NPI projects to ensure quality is built into SMT processes from the design phase.
- Involve DFM (Design for Manufacturability)/ DFT (Design for Testability) reviews, risk assessments, and quality feasibility analysis.
- Work with NPI team to develop PFMEA, control plans, quality inspection criteria, and validation plans including reliability.
- Define critical-to-quality (CTQ) parameters and acceptance standards.
- Verify SMT process flows in pre-production phase.
- Line readiness reviews before production release.
2. Leading daily production issues troubleshooting (based on data analysis, customer feedback, ongoing reliability, etc.). Involve cross-functional departments to support where necessary
3.Proactive identify areas for improvement based on cost analysis and capacity constraints (including yield, efficiency and material consumption) and address by structured project base approach.
4. Standardizing working methods, processes and materials for production.
Maintain process parameters such as for pick and place, solder paste printing, reflow profiling, wave soldering, and post reflow processes.
Ensure compliance with IPC standards, RoHS, and relevant customer specifications
5. Customer service concerning complaints in restraining, correcting and preventing actions
6. Conducting statistical control over processes and statistical analysis (Pareto based high reject areas identification, cause and effect analysis) and drive Cp/ Cpk improvements
7. New products and materials approval follow Sonion releasing process
8. Handling of nonconforming material/product (including Quality Functional Tests for nonconforming materials and Waiver Request for nonconforming products).
9. Supervising QC operator responsible for Control Plan measurements and basic Line Audits
Conducting internal audits, supporting third-party audits
10. Providing product/process quality training for production staff.
II. REQUIREMENTS:
1. Education
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related fields.
- Preferred: Master's Degree in Engineering.
2. Professional Knowledge
Required:
- Hands-on experience with SMT machine programming and line setup.
- Experience with lead-free and fine-pitch/BGA assembly processes for PCBA and Flex PCBA.
- Knowledge of Solder Paste, Pick & Place (P&P), Reflow Soldering, SPI, AOI, and UV Laser Singulation processes.
- Knowledge of common SMT defects and reliability risks.
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and Process Capability Analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements.
- Proficient in quality tools.
Preferred:
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics).
- Knowledge of statistical software (Minitab or JMP).
- Experience as an Internal ISO 9001 Auditor.
- Knowledge of Quality & Environmental Policies.
3. Computer Skills
