Job Description
1. Main purpose of the role
Responsible for leading the Operations Automation Project Management Team (Overall and Equipment project engineers/managers) under Manufacturing Engineering Department and the management of the project pipeline and running projects.
2. Team Management
- Responsible for personal development of project engineers and project managers.
- Mentors, motivates and inspires project engineers and project managers and creates an environment that enables them to do their job efficiently and encourages them to take responsibility and initiative.
- Responsible for the project feedback and making sure that all project team members get their fair share of feedback in support of their personal development.
- Supports scenario making and problem solving on all aspects of the job by hands-on coaching.
- Promotes knowledge sharing, continuous lesson learning.
- Accessible and approachable.
- Accountable for the project KPIs and proactively discuss possible issues with the responsible project engineers/managers.
- Ensures delivery of project commitments.
- Monitors projects with a project dashboard - data and analysis, performance reports.
- Collaborates with other department (OA) groups and manages stakeholder’s expectations and satisfaction
3. Project Management (execution)
Responsible for the overall management of automation projects developed for productions lines installed in Sonion. Working closely with the IND members and PE/PC Engineers to drive innovation, optimize project duration, increase project efficiency by compressing its timeline.
- Manage projects which develop new equipment for current production.
- Participate in the development process for assigned projects with focus on time to equipment installation, project cost minimization, and to secure proper project quality.
- Compile project plans. Regularly updates on project status to management, the project team, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and control progress of projects to provide technical overview.
- Work closely with Production Engineer on product manufacturability, assembly, Quality Engineer to secure good product quality, R&D in case process / product change.
- Request in advance proper resources based on project needs.
- Cooperate with Purchaser and participate in price/ lead time negotiation.
Active participation in new process / solution development.
4.Project Management (supervision)
- Assess new projects and give input to the project charters and WBS where required.
- Assigns the project engineers and project managers for the projects based on the project scope and complexity as defined in the project charters.
- Makes scenario planning in case priority decisions need to be made.
- Supports project engineers and project managers in:
- Initiating, project planning, execution, monitoring/controlling, and closing of their projects by assessing the project progress reports, sharing knowledge through mentoring.
- Decision making in case of project issues, roadblocks, or conflicts, which do not need to be escalated to management.
- Supports project engineers and project managers in making the escalation input and presenting scenarios which are aligned with all the project stakeholders.
II. JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Background: University degree, Technical, Engineering, Mechanics or Master Degree is preferred
2. Professional experience:
- At least 3 years’ experience as Project Engineer within Sonion or at least 4 year in a similar positions of project management outside Sonion.
- 2 years’ experience in Project Management in a technical working area.
3. Knowledge of computer servicing: Microsoft Office/ MS Project
4. Knowledge of foreign languages: Fluent in English
