Job Description

I. RANGE OF DUTIES:

1. Production Management - Operational excellence:

  • Drive daily operations of the assembly areas to assure safety, quality, delivery, utilization, and employee performance and satisfaction.
  • Manage and balance the assembly and sub-assembly capacity and cycle times to assure delivery to the plan.
  • Manage assigned production line, distribute human resources, overtime reasonably to ensure that the production process takes place smoothly, products meet quality standards, lines achieve optimal efficiency, meet delivery deadlines.
  • Implement consistent and robust SBS procedures and processes throughout assembly operations.
  • Manage and update production records such as data on input materials, output, quality, order tracking, human resource tracking, tools.
  • Ensure that data of control plan, record sheet, material ID, machine identification… will match / align with requirements.
  • Supervise production process from materials to finished products in order to control material losses, scrap percentage, yield…, to look for non-conformity products.
  • Coach to the subordinates to find out root cause of issue and give corrective / preventive actions to improve product’s quality.
  • Implement and monitor the monthly counting (inventory, equipment, tools…) and take mitigated / improvement actions accordingly.
  • Work closely with Planning and other supporting departments to execute to the commits. Critical focus on in-housework orders, bottlenecks and material shortage processes.
  • Implement the weekly reports and take actions proactively to ensure the success of next periods.
  • With the support from superior, build up management system at the responsible area which aligns with the directions and strategy of her/his section.
  • Implement consistent and robust ESD, BIO… procedures and processes throughout assembly operations.
  • Comply with all policies, regulations, and requirements of ISO 9001, employee handbook, work rules, etc.
  • Plan, allocate and monitor human resources, materials, equipment and technology for production lines.
  • Supervise, inspect and evaluate production processes, ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards according to ISO 9001.
  • Coordinate with other departments such as QA, Maintenance, Supply Chain, etc. to ensure product delivery on time and according to customer requirements.
  • Handle problems, incidents, complaints related to production, propose and implement timely solutions.
  • Maintain optimal absenteeism rates by building and maintaining fair, and sustainable labor relationships with the support of the HR department, promptly and satisfactorily handling issues arising related to employees.
  • Report nonconformities, production progress to superior.
  • Elaborate and execute workforce development program that will provide appropriate flexibility of workforce and assets. Focus on material availability, finished goods quality, and on time delivery through optimal resource allocation.
  • Ensure ongoing smooth operation of factory through employee and industrial relations.
  • Perform other related tasks at the request of the superior.

2. Continuous Improvement:

** 5S: 

  • Maintain 5S and its standards at the responsible area and able to raise the initiatives which support for standardization, consolidation and centralization.
  • Conduct 5S+ and LPA audits and hold self and team accountable for actions to improve the popped-up issues.
  • Report / feedback on the non-conformities which happened at other production areas to superior and / or interested parties and chances of improvement if any.
  • Support the audits conducted by Production and other supporting departments and take the account to close the findings.

** Kaizen:

  • Improve quality of product, processes and working environment through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Inspire coworkers contributing their initiatives to cheer with Lean culture.
  • Take actions to support the success of IDL and DL Point Kaizen program within the responsible area.
  • Share good samples and / or practices to other colleagues and support them to copy / roll out in case of needs.

** CI events:

  • Support to the CI events such as SKB, BKB... when necessary.
  • Join the complicated CI events when required or recommended.
  • Propose and implement continuous improvements for production processes, aiming to improve efficiency, save costs and reduce waste. Able to lead the quite complicated CI events.

** MES:

  • Responsible for the performance and compliance of employees in responsible area.
  • Able to read simple reports, identify the root causes prior to taking corrective actions, propose and work with interested parties for preventive actions if any.
  • Take the corrections regarding non-compliance, abnormal data… Hold self and team accountable for actions to improve pop-up issues.
  • Take the account to ensure the commitment of subordinate with action for sustaining BI Report and join shift meeting in case of needed.
  • Support the audits conducted by Production and other supporting departments and take the account to close the findings.
  • Provide training for DL/IDL newcomers or refresh training with less guidance and support from other colleagues or superiors.
  • Report / feedback on the non-conformities to superior and / or interested parties and chances of improvement if any.
  • Able to cooperate with MES Project Team or other colleagues to implement action for responsible area and give developmental feedback for better improvement.

** LEAN promotion:

  • Provide the instructions to other colleagues in case of need.

3. Talent Acquisition

  • Forecast and propose recruiting plan to superior to secure the business demand.
  • Conduct the Employee exit interview process, report on its performance, and initiate to provide solutions for improving turnover rate.
  • Proactive building talent pool related DLS - Acting Shift Leader, IDL - Shift Leader
  • Screen, interview and recommend the internal and/or external candidates for DL, DLS, IDL e.g. Line Assistant, Water Spider, Shift Leader...
  • Responsible for completion of employee workflow probation. Involved in probation assessment.

4. Learning & Development:

  • Responsible for training, developing skills, knowledge and improving skills of workers to meet the requirements of the company and customers at the responsible area.
  • Take Mentor role in case of assignment.
  • Support events to promote Production department| company‘s culture.
  • Conduct hard skill training for Team Leaders/ Water Spiders, Shift Leaders.
  • Conduct the personal sharing e.g. good practice, lesson learnt, 8D report…
  • KPIs set-up for subordinates and conduct PA, IDP annually.
  • Motivate and inspire the production associates actively participate to the programs organized by company, HR, LU… Member of events or able to lead simple ones.
  • Support supervisor and be responsible in build-up standards, KPIs set-up at responsible area(s).
  • Train, guide, motivate and evaluate the performance of production staff, build a professional and high-spirited team.

5. SHE - ESG:

  • Ensure adherence to ISO 14001 and 45001 standards.
  • Assure that all assembly equipment, procedures, and employee actions meet required safety protocols.
  • Conduct all required health and safety audits within responsible scope.
  • Ensure no violation of "7 continuous working days", "12h break" and other OVT requirements (e.g. 40h per month, 300h per year).
  • Implement and promote safety standards and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Identify and report the near miss, incident and accident to superior, and / or other interested parties.
  • Initiate, participate and motivate other members to join the ESG (Environment Social Governance) programs.
  • Provide feedback accountable in work tasks, safety, quality, lean and job performance.
  • Build-up assessment matrix of activities, environment aspects, impacts; and hazards, risks… with the significant guidance and / or supports from superior and / or other experts.

II. FORMAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Education: College degree

2. Professional knowledge of:

  • At this position, person has a proven record of working experience as a Line Leader or equal and ability to manage a production line with ~100-200 employees.
  • Line Manager has (1) required high competence, (2) knowledge related to manufacturing of the responsible area, (3) able to lead the complicated events within the responsible area independently, and (4) able to conduct the problem solving with the less support from superior or other experts.
  • Fairly proficient in Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, JIT, Poka yoke, Gemba, Heijunka or Level Scheduling, Kanban, OEE, PDCA, SMED, VSM…) and Production tools (Line Balancing, TMS, PMP...).

3. Knowledge of computer servicing:

  • Microsoft Office
  • Must be a Guide of SBS, ERP, MES and PMS.

4. Languages: Be able to communicate in English

5. Professional experience: 3+ years of experienced
