Job Description
I. RANGE OF DUTIES:
1. Failure Analysis:
- Perform failure analysis using appropriate methodology.
- Ensures the existence of an established procedure in conducting failure analysis.
- Ensures resources are available for the analysis activities either internally or from network outside the company.
- Reviews and initiates revisions and changes in procedures related to FA activities.
- Ensures equipment and tools under his/her responsibility are in good working condition and calibrated as required.
- Takes initiative to recommend improvements in processes and products where opportunities are available
- Initiates communications with all concerned parties internally and externally for quality issues observed.
2. Reliability Engineering:
- Support development and execute SQC test plans.
- Plan and implement monitoring (P&R Tests) on identified products
- Support development of new test procedures (SMIs) for product qualification and life testing.
- Conduct analysis on test data and reliability failures.
- Perform reliability modelling and prediction.
- Develop and implement systems and procedures to ensure reliability programs are effectively implemented.
- Prepare reports and communicate results to relevant departments.
- Benchmark with other relevant industries and standards for reliability test methods and practices.
- Supervise the reliability inspector in test data collection and reporting
3. Reports:
- Writes basic failure analysis report.
- Publishes timely reports as requested.
- Ensures accuracy of generated reports.
- Support maintenance of knowledge base on reliability and failure analysis (e.g. failure symptoms, modes, mechanisms, defect, site, reliability models, etc.)
4. Others
- Performs other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.
- Coordinate with reliability and failure analysis service providers for external requirements.
- Write Sonion Measurements Instructions (SMI) and support its administration.
- Employee is responsible in proactively receive, search, learn and comply with prevailing law and company regulation which are communicated via internal information channels including broadcasting, email, SBS (Sonion Business System), notice board and electronic notice in every area. This content includes but not limited to: ISO on Quality Management, Environment, Occupation Health & Safety, Code of conduct and Corporate Social Responsibility, Labor safety and Fire Prevention and Fighting, Work Rule and Employee Handbook and other internal regulations.
- Attending concerned training courses of QMS–ISO 9001, EMS-ISO 14001, OH&SMS-ISO45001 where required
II. FORMAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Education:
- University Graduate (Physics, Applied Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science/Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering) – one of any degree
- Master of Science or Master of Engineering degree
2. Professional knowledge of:
- Basic understanding of Materials Science and Engineering fundamentals (e.g. Kinetics, Thermal, Mechanical, Thermodynamics, Metallurgy, Processing)
- Basic electronics and circuitry
- Basic understanding of Sonion Business System and ISO systems:
- Know about the Quality& Environment Policy (what they are about and where they are posted or filed)
3. Microsoft Office, measurement/mechanical design software, Analytical equipment software
4. English level B, both written and spoken (communication main)
5. Other:
- 1-2 years of experience in Quality, Failure Analysis, Reliability, Process, R&D, NPI, Manufacturing through on-job-training or internship.
- Understanding of Industry Standards (JEDEC, IPC, ISO, IEC, ASTM, ASM, etc.) is prefered
- Semiconductor devices and characterization is prefered
