Job Description

I. RANGE OF DUTIES:

1. Summary

  • Planning, organizing, and controlling work of the colleagues within responsible area.
  • Subordinates’ supervision incl. (i) Team development, (ii) Flexibility improvement, (iii) Competences improvement, (iv) Creating friendly and cooperative work atmosphere.
  • Responsible for manpower improvement and development, define KPIs for employees within assigned areas.

2. Persons/Under-departments

  • Operators, Team Leaders / Water Spiders, DLS, Shift Leaders

3. Production Management - Operational excellence

  • Drive daily operations of the assembly areas to assure safety, quality, delivery, utilization, and employee performance and satisfaction.
  • Hold daily stand ups with all members of the team at the start of the shift. These meetings must cover SHE - ESG, quality, production, customer commitments and other issues or potential risks.
  • Cross over and collaborate with other Shift Leaders within to assure flawless daily communication.
  • Assure compliance to shift schedule, recommend overtime as needed, and secure commits to be reviewed with superior.
  • Implement consistent and robust SBS procedures and processes throughout assembly operations.
  • Manage and update production records such as data on input materials, output, quality, order tracking, human resource tracking, tools.
  • Ensure that data of control plan, record sheet, material ID, machine identification… will match / align with requirements.
  • Monitor Yield, Scrapped percentage at the processes, groups and overall line, take the corrections, preventions to mitigate and / or eliminate the wastes, reject rate. Escalate to superior or other interested parties in case of needs
  • Implement and monitor the monthly counting (inventory, equipment, tools…) and take mitigated / improvement actions accordingly.
  • With the remarkable supports from:
  • Supporting Functions colleagues: check and correct the daily attendance of operators.
  • Superior: Prepare data supported for the weekly Performance reports of the responsible areas i.e Supporting Hours Request, ensure all working hours from operators are correct, reported output are matching with QA data…
  • With the significant supports from superior:
  • Provide guidance of work rules, company policies and regulations, production requirements and procedures... to the subordinates.
  • Assist in the training and development of new employees. Ensure training/instruction is performed well for new employees and effectively.
  • Be the liaison between the workers, Team leader (or Water spiders) and supervisors and solve disputes between workers.
  • Comply with all policies, regulations, and requirements of ISO 9001, employee handbook, work rules, etc.
  • Coordinate with other departments such as QA, Maintenance, Supply Chain, etc. to ensure product delivery on time and according to customer requirements.
  • Handle problems, incidents, complaints related to production, propose and implement timely solutions.
  • Maintain optimal absenteeism rates by building and maintaining fair, and sustainable labor relationships with the support of the HR department, promptly and satisfactorily handling issues arising related to employees.
  • Report nonconformities, production progress to superior.
  • Perform other related tasks at the request of the superior.

4. Continuous Improvement

5S

  • Maintain 5S and its standards during the working shift.
  • Conduct 5S+ and LPA audits and hold self and team accountable for actions to improve simple issues every day.
  • Report / feedback on the non-conformities to superior and / or interested parties and chances of improvement if any.
  • Support the audits conducted by Production and other supporting departments and take the account to close the simple findings.

Kaizen

  • Improve quality of product, processes and working environment through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Inspire coworkers contributing their initiatives to cheer with Lean culture.
  • Cooperate with other Shift Leaders to support for the success of IDL and DL Point Kaizen as aligned with superior within responsible area.
  • Share good samples and / or practices to other colleagues.

CI events

  • Support to the CI events such as SKB, BKB... when necessary.
  • Join the quite complicated CI events when required or recommended.

MES

  • Responsible for the performance and compliance of employees during the working shift/or responsible area as assigned from superior.
  • Able to read simple reports and identify the root cause prior to taking corrective actions.
  • Take the corrections regarding non-compliance, abnormal data… Hold self and team accountable for actions to improve simple issues every day.
  • Take the account to implement shift meeting and other requirements for sustaining BI Report.
  • Support the audits conducted by Production and other supporting departments and take the account to close the findings.
  • Provide training for DL/IDL newcomers or refresh training with guidance and support from other colleagues or superiors.
  • Report / feedback on the non-conformities to superior and / or interested parties and chances of improvement if any.
  • Able to cooperate with MES Project Team/Or other colleagues to implement action for current working shift/or responsible area as assigned from superior.

Talent Acquisition

  • Forecast and propose recruiting plan to superior to secure the business demand.
  • Conduct the Employee exit interview process, report on its performance.
  • Proactive building talent pool related DL, DLS, IDL e.g. Line Assistant, Water Spider...

Learning & Development

  • Responsible for training, developing skills, knowledge and improving skills of workers to meet the requirements of the company and customers at the responsible area.
  • Take Buddy role in case of assignment.
  • Support events to promote Production department| company's culture.
  • Conduct hard skill training for Team Leaders/ Water Spiders, Shift Leaders with the supports from other colleagues or superior.
  • Conduct the personal sharing e.g. good practice, lesson learnt, 8D report... with the instructions and supports from other colleagues or superior.
  • KPIs set-up for subordinates and conduct PA, IDP annually.
  • Motivate and inspire the production associates actively participate to the programs organized by company, HR, LU… Member of simple events.
  • Consult superior in build-up standards, KPIs set-up at responsible area(s).
  • Train, guide, motivate and evaluate the performance of production staff, build a professional and high-spirited team.

SHE - ESG

  • Ensure adherence to ISO 14001 and 45001 standards.
  • Assure that all assembly equipment, procedures, and employee actions meet required safety protocols.
  • Conduct all required health and safety audits within responsible scope
  • Ensure no violation of "7 continuous working days", "12h break" and other OVT requirements (e.g. 40h per month, 300h per year).
  • Implement and promote safety standards and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Identify and report the near miss, incident and accident to superior, and / or other interested parties.
  • Initiate, participate and motivate other members joining to the ESG (Environment Social Governance) programs.
  • Provide feedback accountable in work tasks, safety, quality, lean and job performance.

Project perspectives

  • Following assignment from superior:
  • Data collecting incl cycle time, equipment…
  • Resolve the issues belong to production such as operators training, ramp plan…).

 

II. FORMAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Education: College degree and above

2. Professional knowledge of:

  • At this position, person has a proven record of working experience as a senior Shift Leader, capable of change management (of man, machine, material...) and ability to manage a working shift with ~70-100 employees incl Shift Leaders, DLS, Team Leaders / Water Spiders and DL.
  • Shift Leader III has (1) required high competence of this position, (2) knowledge related to assembly manufacturing of the responsible area, (3) capability of dealing with highly complex issues incl ramp plan within her/ his responsibility, (4) experienced at least 3 production linesor equal, (5) proficient in Lean and Production tools, (6) able to lead the improvement events within the responsible area with significant supports from superior, and (7) able to conduct the problem solving with significant support from superior or other experts.
  • Able to use Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, JIT, Poka yoke, Gemba, Heijunka or Level Scheduling, Kanban, OEE, PDCA, SMED, VSM…) and Production tools (Line Balancing, TMS, PMP...) in daily operation and provide the support to other colleagues in case of needs.

3.Knowledge of computer servicing:

  • Microsoft Office
  • Fully capable of ERP, MES and able to utilize their advances in daily operations.

4.Knowledge of foreign languages: Be able to communicate in English

5.Professional experience: 2+ years of experience
